Johnson'S Cream Dream - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pt. heavy cream (do not whip)
    1 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1 egg white, well beaten
    1 pinch salt
    1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 300\u00b0.
    Prepare pie crust for an 8 or 9-inch two crust pie.
    In medium bowl, stir cornstarch into cream.
    Add other ingredients, being careful not to \"break down\" beaten egg white.
    Pour into crust-lined pie plate.
    Cut hole, approximately 1 inch in diameter, in remaining crust and carefully lay over top. Seal (flute) around edges.
    Bake in a 325\u00b0 oven for 1 hour. Check 3/4 way through cooking time and if bubbling too vigorously, turn temperature down to 300\u00b0.
    Cool and refrigerate before serving.
    Serves 8.
