Molasses Stack Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. molasses
    3 eggs
    1/2 c. lard
    3/4 tsp. cloves
    3/4 tsp. ginger
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. buttermilk
    3/4 tsp. allspice
    3/4 tsp. nutmeg
    3 tsp. soda
Preparation
    Mix all together and add enough plain flour to make a stiff dough. Divide in twelve equal parts and knead each part with self-rising flour. Pat out in a ruffled edge pie pan in a thin layer. Bake until brown. When layers cool, put dried apples mixed with applesauce that has been sweetened and your favorite spice added. Makes two 6 layered cakes.
