Marty'S Infamous Cornbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. white cornmeal
    2/3 c. buttermilk
    2 tsp. baking soda
    1 Tbsp. flour
    2 to 3 jalapeno peppers, chopped or 2 Tbsp. crushed red peppers
    1/4 c. bacon grease, melted and strained
    1 can Mexicorn or small can whole kernel corn plus 1/4 c. onion and 1/4 c. green pepper
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 eggs
    1 lb. shredded Cheddar
Preparation
    Mix together soda, salt, cornmeal, flour, jalapenos, eggs, buttermilk and heated bacon grease.
    Pour 1/2 of this mixture into a skillet or pan.
    Top with Mexicorn and 3/4 pound Cheddar cheese. Layer on remaining cornmeal mixture.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 20 minutes.
    Remove from oven.
    Top with remaining cheese.
    Return to oven for 10 minutes or until brown.
