Punch For Big Affairs - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. sugar
    2 c. water
    2 c. strong black tea
    juice of 10 lemons (2 c.)
    juice of 10 oranges (2 1/2 c.)
    2 (No. 2) cans pineapple juice (5 c.)
    12 oz. maraschino cherries (with juice)
    3 gal. water
    2 qt. dry ginger ale
Preparation
    Make syrup by boiling together sugar and 2 cups water for 10 minutes.
    Add tea and juices.
    Chill 2 to 3 hours.
    Strain if desired.
    Add cherries and their juice, 3 gallons water and ginger ale.
    Pour over block of ice in punch bowl or over ice cubes. Serves 75.
