Cornmeal Biscuits - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. self-rising cornmeal
    1 c. self-rising flour
    1/4 c. shortening (Crisco)
    1/2 to 3/4 c. milk
Preparation
    Combine cornmeal and flour in bowl.
    Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
    Blend in enough milk to make soft dough.
    Put onto floured board and knead gently 30 seconds. Roll out 1/2-inch thick.
    Cut out with 2-inch biscuit cutter or sharp knife.
    Place on ungreased baking sheet.
    Bake in preheated 425\u00b0 oven for 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned.
