Red Velvet Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 tsp. soda
    1 Tbsp. vinegar
    1 or 2 oz. red food color
    2 eggs
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. cocoa (dark can)
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. vanilla
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 c. buttermilk
Preparation
    Add soda to vinegar and set aside.
    Cream shortening, sugar and eggs.
    Make a paste of cocoa and food color.
    Add the paste mixture to the creamed mixture and mix together well.
    Sift flour, baking powder and salt.
    Alternately add flour mixture and buttermilk to creamed mixture.
    Add vanilla.
    Add soda and vinegar; mix well. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
