Hush Puppies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. corn meal
1/3 c. self-rising flour
1/4 c. sugar
dash of salt
1 Tbsp. baking powder
1 large egg

Preparation

Beat egg and mix with other ingredients. Add cold water until medium texture (milk optional). Spoon into hot oil (drop in small amount to test oil). Remove when brown and drain onto paper towels.
Makes about two dozen.
