Apple Squares - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 double pie crust recipes
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. flour
    about 12 to 14 tart apples
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. flour
    salt, cinnamon and lemon juice
    butter
    powdered sugar frosting
Preparation
    Make 2 double pie crust recipes.
    Line an oblong shallow pan with half of the crust.
    Mix 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 cup flour together and sprinkle over bottom crust.
    Peel apples; slice and arrange on top of sugar and flour mixture.
    Mix another 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 cup flour together and sprinkle over top of sliced apples.
    Sprinkle with salt, cinnamon and lemon juice.
    Dot with butter.
    Roll out remaining half of dough for top crust.
    Cut a few slits for steam to escape.
    Lay over apples.
    Moisten edge of pie crust; turn under and flute.
    Bake at 425\u00b0 for 40 to 45 minutes.
    Frost lightly while warm with powdered sugar frosting. Cut in squares when cool.
