Wild Rice Soup - cooking recipe
Ingredients

6 Tbsp. butter
1/2 c. sliced mushrooms
1/2 to 3/4 c. each finely chopped onions, celery and green peppers
1/2 to 3/4 c. finely grated carrots
3 (14 3/4 oz.) cans chicken broth
3 c. cooked long grain and wild rice
2 c. cooked turkey or ham cubes
1 1/2 c. milk (or more to desired thickness)
8 oz. soft cream cheese
4 Tbsp. slivered almonds
Preparation

Saute mushrooms, onions, celery, green peppers and carrots in butter.
When tender, add broth, rice and meat.
Boil for 5 minutes.
Remove from heat and stir in cream cheese and milk.
Stir until well blended.
Cook on low heat until thoroughly heated, stirring occasionally.
Do not boil.
Just before serving, add the almonds.
Garnish with minced parsley or chives, if desired.
