Butterscotch Cream Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. brown sugar
    1/4 c. cornstarch
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. water
    1 2/3 c. milk
    1/3 c. butter
    3 egg yolks
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Mix in a saucepan or double boiler, sugar, cornstarch, salt, water, milk, butter and egg yolks.
    Boil until it thickens; then add vanilla.
    Pour into baked pie shells and cover with meringue icing or whipped cream.
