Swiss Treats - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter
    1 1/4 c. sugar
    1 egg, beaten
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 1/2 c. sifted plain flour
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. chopped pecans
    1/2 c. maraschino cherries
    1/2 c. flaked coconut
    1 (6 oz.) bag chocolate pieces
Preparation
    Cream butter; add sugar gradually.
    Blend in egg and vanilla. Combine flour, baking powder and salt; stir into creamed mixture. Add nuts, chopped cherries, coconut and chocolate pieces.
    Spread dough in a greased 16 x 11-inch pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 20 minutes. Cool slightly; cut into bars.
    Makes about 7 dozen.
