Armenian Casserole - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 to 1 c. lentils, half cooked
1 c. or more brown rice, half cooked
1 lb. ground beef or turkey
1 onion, chopped
1/2 c. raisins
1/4 to 1/2 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 c. beef or chicken broth
Preparation

Combine the lentils and rice and set aside.
Brown the ground meat and onion. Drain off fat. Add raisins, cloves and cinnamon to meat.
In a Dutch oven or heavy deep kettle, greased, alternate layers of the lentil-rice mix and the meat mixture. Gently pour hot broth over layered casserole.
Cover and simmer for 1/2 hour or cook in a 300\u00b0 to 325\u00b0 oven.
