Sherry'S Favorite Swiss Steak - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 to 2 lbs round steak, tenderized
1 onion, chopped
1 bell pepper, chopped
1 clove garlic, chopped
1 stalk celery, chopped
2-4 Tbsp oil
2 small cans tomato sauce or 1 can stewed tomatoes
1 tsp Worchestershire sauce
salt and pepper to taste
1 tsp sugar
1 can water if using tomato sauce
flour
Preparation

Heat oil in pan.
Cut steak into serving size pieces and lightly flour.
Lightly brown meat in hot oil and remove from pan; place on paper towels to absorb oil.
Add onion, pepper, garlic and celery to pan; fry until clear stirring to prevent sticking. Add sugar, tomato sauce, water and seasonings.
Cook stirring constantly for about 5 minutes.
Put steak in single layer in 9x13 pan, pour sauce over meat.
Add additional water if sauce does not completely cover all meat.
Cover pan with foil.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for about 1 hour.
Serve over rice.
