Talarena - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. lean ground beef
    1 medium, chopped onion
    1 medium, chopped pepper (green)
    1 Tbsp. shortening or Pam
    1 (14 1/2 oz.) can tomatoes, chopped
    garlic salt
    1 tsp. salt or less
    1 tsp. chili powder
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    1 (17 oz.) can cream-style corn
    3 c. cooked rice (1 c. uncooked; I sometimes use 3 c. cooked macaroni)
    shredded Cheddar cheese
Preparation
    Brown beef, onion and green pepper in shortening; drain.
    Add tomatoes, garlic salt, chili powder, salt and pepper.
    Simmer 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
    Add cooked, unseasoned rice or macaroni and corn.
    Mix well; pour into buttered 2 to 2 1/2-quart baking dish.
    Top with cheese.
    Cover and bake in 350\u00b0 oven for 20 to 30 minutes.
    Yields 8 servings.
