Raisin Scones - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 egg
    milk
    1/2 c. raisins
Preparation
    Sift flour, salt, baking powder and sugar together.
    Cut in shortening.
    Add raisins.
    Beat eggs slightly and add enough milk to make 3/4 cup total.
    Stir into dry mixture.
    Knead lightly on floured board.
    Divide dough into fourths.
    Pat each into circle. Cut each circle into 4 wedges.
    Place on greased baking sheet. Brush top with milk and sprinkle with sugar.
    Bake at 425\u00b0 for 10 minutes or until browned.
    Makes 16.
