Texan Chinese Chews - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 eggs
1 c. sugar
3/4 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. chopped dates
1 c. chopped pecans
sifted powdered sugar
Preparation

Beat eggs until thick and lemon colored.
Gradually add 1 cup sugar, beating well.
Combine flour, baking powder and salt; add to egg mixture, beating well.
Fold in dates and pecans.
Spread batter evenly into a greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan.
Bake in a 300\u00b0 oven for 35 minutes.
Cut into 3 x 1-inch bars.
Remove to wire racks to cool.
Sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving. Yields about 3 dozen.
