Ingredients

3/4 c. dark brown sugar
5 Tbsp. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
3 c. milk
2 eggs, separated
2 Tbsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1 baked pastry shell
2 egg whites
1/2 c. finely chopped pecans
Preparation

Combine
sugar,
flour and salt and stir in milk slowly. Cook over
boiling water until thickened, stirring constantly. Cover and
cook

minutes longer, stirring constantly.
Add mixture to
egg
yolks,
stirring
vigorously;
cook
1 minute longer. Add
butter, vanilla and pecans.
Cool.
Place filling into a 9 inch baked pastry shell.
Top with meringue.
