Jam Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. brown sugar
    1 c. butter
    1 c. buttermilk
    4 c. plain flour
    1 tsp. soda (level)
    5 eggs, beaten
    2 c. jam
    1 c. any kind preserves
    1 tsp. allspice
    1 tsp. cloves
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 c. nuts
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar.
    Sift flour and measure, then sift flour, soda and spices together.
    Add flour mixture to butter and sugar; add buttermilk.
    Mix well.
    Fold in beaten eggs; add jam, preserves and nuts.
    Mix well.
    Bake in a 350\u00b0 oven until done.
