Krautsalat(Shredded Cabbage Salad) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. water
    1 tsp. salt
    4 c. shredded cabbage (1 small head)
    1/2 tsp. caraway seed
    4 slices bacon, diced
    1 medium onion, chopped
    1/4 c. vinegar
    5 large potatoes, peeled
    1 large onion
    4 eggs
    1 1/3 c. matzo meal
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1/3 c. oil for frying
Preparation
    Grate the potatoes and onions on the fine side of a grater or through a blender with a little water.
    Add the eggs and mix well. Add the matzo meal, salt and pepper and mix again.
    Heat the oil in a frying pan and add the mixture, one tablespoon at a time, into the pan.
    When the latkes are golden brown, turn them over and brown the other side.
    Serves approximately 20.
