Baking Powder Biscuits - cooking recipe

2 c. sifted flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
2/3 c. milk
Preparation

Sift flour, baking powder and salt together in large mixing bowl.
Cut shortening into flour mixture with 2 knives or a pastry blender, until mixture looks like meal.
Add milk to flour mixture; stir quickly with fork just enough to make a soft ball. Put dough on lightly floured board or wax paper and knead 6 or 8 times, forming a ball.
Roll dough 1/4-inch thick for crusty biscuits and 1/2-inch for soft biscuits.
Cut with floured cutter.
Bake at 425\u00b0 to 450\u00b0 for 12 to 15 minutes.
