Ingredients

1 c. butter, softened
1 c. vegetable oil
1 c. sugar
1 c. sifted powdered sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla extract
4 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar
Preparation

Combine butter, oil and sugar in large mixing bowl; beat well. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition.
Stir in vanilla.
Add flour, baking soda and cream of tartar.
Shape dough into 1-inch balls.
Place on ungreased cookie sheets.
Flatten with bottom of a glass dipped in sugar.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes.
Cool on wire racks.
Makes 6 to 7 dozen cookies.
