Asparagus Au Gratin - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. fresh asparagus
1 c. frozen peas
1 c. half and half
1/4 c. sliced green onions
1 small onion, chopped
1 bay leaf
1 clove
1/4 c. dry bread crumbs
1 tomato, chopped
salt and pepper to taste
1/4 c. grated Parmesan cheese
Preparation

Wash asparagus and snap off ends.
Cut diagonally into 2-inch pieces.
Blanch in boiling water for 1 minute.
Drain.
Blanch peas for 1 minute to heat through.
Mix half and half, green onions, onion, tomato, bay leaf and clove in a small saucepan. Simmer, uncovered, for about 10 minutes to reduce by one-third. Sprinkle half of the bread crumbs on the bottom of a buttered 9-inch square baking dish.
Spread asparagus evenly over the bottom, then peas.
Remove bay leaf and clove from mixture.
Pour over the peas.
Sprinkle with salt and pepper, then top with Parmesan cheese and remaining bread crumbs.
Bake 15 to 20 minutes at 375\u00b0.
