Fresh Apple Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. plus 3 Tbsp. sugar
    2 eggs
    1 apple, grated
    1 1/2 Tbsp. evaporated milk or regular milk
    1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
    1 c. chopped nuts
    1 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation
    Sift flour, soda and salt.
    Cream shortening and 1 cup of sugar.
    Add eggs; mix well.
    Add apple, milk and vanilla.
    Add sifted dry ingredients; beat well.
    Stir in nuts.
    Pour into greased and floured loaf pan.
    Combine remaining sugar and cinnamon; sprinkle over batter.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour.
