Key West Garbanzo Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 qt. water
    2 cans garbanzos
    1 small head cabbage, cut small
    1 can tomato sauce
    1 onion
    4 garlic buds
    1 green pepper
    6 potatoes, quartered
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    2 chorizos (Cuban sausage; can substitute smoked sausage)
Preparation
    Cook onion, garlic and green pepper in shortening.
    Add chorizos.
    Add garbanzos, water, tomato sauce and salt.
    Cook until garbanzos start to soften. Add potatoes and cabbage. Cook until done.
