Foolproof Meringue - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 Tbsp. cornstarch
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    1/2 c. water
    pinch of salt
    3 egg whites
    6 Tbsp. sugar
Preparation
    Mix cornstarch with 2 tablespoons sugar and 1/2 cup water. Stirring constantly, cook over medium heat until clear.
    Cool completely (may refrigerate).
    Beat egg whites with salt until they form peaks.
    Stir in cooled cornstarch mixture.
    Beat until creamy, then add 6 tablespoons sugar one at a time and mix thoroughly.
