Chicken And Dumplings - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 to 3 lb. chicken
salt
dash of pepper
3 Tbsp. onion (whole)
1 Tbsp. parsley
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
dash of salt
1/4 c. shortening
milk
Preparation

Do not cut up.
Cover chicken with water.
Add 1/2 teaspoon salt per pound of chicken, pepper, onion and parsley.
Boil 1 1/2 hours until chicken starts coming off the bones.
Remove chicken and remove meat from bones after it cools.
Mix flour, baking powder, dash of salt, shortening and milk to make dough.
Mix well.
Roll dough thin and cut into 1 x 1-inch strips.
Drop into hot boiling broth.
Cover and cook for 20 minutes.
Remove cover and add chicken.
Cook 5 more minutes.
Serve hot.
