Red Velvet Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    2 oz. red food coloring
    2 Tbsp. cocoa
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 Tbsp. vinegar
    1 tsp. butter flavoring
Preparation
    Cream sugar and shortening until light.
    Add eggs.
    Sift flour, salt and cocoa; add alternately with buttermilk and 2 ounces red food color.
    Mix well.
    Fold in vinegar and soda mixture.
    Do not beat.
    Pour into 2 (8-inch) greased pans.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 35 minutes.
