Onion Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 very large onion
    3 tbsp butter
    6 beef bouillon cubes dissolved in 6 cups of hot water
    fresh ground pepper
    dash of sherry (optional)
    French or Italian Bread
    Melting Cheese of your choice
Preparation
    Brown sliced onion in the butter until dark brown (caramel colored).
    Add fresh pepper to taste.
    Add beef bouillon.
    Simmer 1/2 hour, add dash of sherry if you would like.
    Toast bread slices dark - put one on each serving, add cheese and broil until cheese browns.
