1/2 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. shortening
1 egg yolk
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 whole egg
1 egg white
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. brown sugar
2 Tbsp. flour
1 c. coconut
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
Preparation

Beat together 1/2 cup brown sugar, shortening, egg yolk and vanilla.
Stir in flour sifted with salt and baking powder.
Pat firmly over bottom of a greased and floured 9-inch square pan.
