Pastry for 2-crust pie
7 medium tart apples, cored and sliced
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
3/4 cup flour
1/2 cup sugar
1 stick margarine
chopped nuts, if desired.
Preparation

Cut a 15 in. circle of heavy foil, or use a pizza pan.
Make pastry for 2 crust pie.
Roll out on foil to fit circle; crimp edges as for pie.
Overlap apple slices on top of pastry, covering completely.
Combine 1/2 c. sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg and sprinkle over apples.
Combine flour, 1/2 c. sugar and margarine till crumbly.
Sprinkle on top of apples.
Add chopped nuts, if desired.
Bake at 450\u00b0 for 20-25 minutes until crust is brown and apples tender.
Top with ice cream if desired.
