Triple Cheese Strata - cooking recipe
Ingredients

8 oz. fresh mushrooms
1/2 c. chopped onion
1/2 tsp. marjoram
3 Tbsp. butter
6 slices day old bread
1/2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
1/2 c. shredded Swiss cheese
1/4 c. grated Parmesan cheese
1 tsp. dry mustard
6 eggs, slightly beaten
1 1/2 c. milk
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
Preparation

Using a 10-inch frying pan, melt one tablespoon butter over medium heat.
Add mushrooms, onion and marjoram and cook until onion begins to turn clear.
Remove from heat.
Spread remaining 2 tablespoons butter over one side of day-old bread.
Cut bread into 1/2-inch cubes leaving crusts on.
Using casserole dish, layer half the bread cubes on the bottom of dish.
Cover with the mushroom-onion mixture.
Combine all three cheeses and dry mustard. Sprinkle over mixture.
Top with remaining bread cubes.
Mix milk, eggs, salt and pepper.
Pour over the bread and cheese.
Cover and refrigerate at least 3 hours or overnight.
