Double Boiler Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. brown sugar
    3 slices buttered bread
    2 c. milk
    3 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
    some raisins
    pinch of salt
Preparation
    Put brown sugar
    in top of double boiler.
    Cut buttered bread into cubes
    and
    spread
    over
    the sugar.
    Sprinkle with raisins. Beat the eggs and add to the milk, salt and vanilla. Pour this mixture
    over the bread.
    Set over boiling water and keep the water boiling.
    Cook about 1 hour.
    Do not stir.
    The brown sugar makes the sauce.
