Potato Pancakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 medium potatoes
    2 Tbsp. flour
    salt and pepper to taste
    1 large onion
    1 egg
    4 Tbsp. vegetable shortening (for skillet)
Preparation
    Peel the potatoes and put in cold water. Wipe each potato and grate fine or blend in blender until coarse. There should be no pieces. Grate or blend coarsely the onion also. Mix with potatoes. Drain some of the liquid in the potatoes. Add about 2 tablespoons flour and the salt and pepper.
    Mix egg and stir into the potato mixture.
    Heat skillet and shortening.
    When skillet is hot, spoon in a tablespoon of potato mixture and flatten.
    Brown on one side, turn over and brown the other side. Serve with sour cream or applesauce.
