Elouise'S Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. corn syrup
    1/2 c. water
    1 c. raw peanuts
    1 tsp. butter or oleo
    1 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cook sugar, syrup and water to soft ball stage (234\u00b0 to 245\u00b0). Add peanuts.
    Continue
    cooking
    to
    hard\tcrack stage (300\u00b0 to 310\u00b0).
    Remove from heat.
    Add vanilla and soda.
    Mix well.
    Pour onto greased
    baking
    sheet
    spreading
    as thin as possible. Using greased
    rubber gloves to protect hands, pull and stretch until very thin.
    Break into pieces.
