Strawberry Preserves - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 qt. berries, washed and capped
    boiling water
    8 c. sugar
Preparation
    Pour boiling water over berries; let set 3 to 5 minutes. Drain in colander.
    Put in pan; add 4 cups of sugar.
    Bring to a hard boil.
    Pull off of heat for 3 minutes.
    Add 4 cups of sugar; boil 3 more minutes.
    Remove from heat; let set 3 minutes.
    Put back on heat and boil 10 minutes.
    Skim and pour in dishes.
    Let stand overnight.
    Put in jars, cold, and seal.
