Danish Apple Squares - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 c. shortening
milk
1 egg yolk
8 c. sliced apples
1 c. crushed corn flakes
2/3 c. sugar
1/2 to 1 tsp. cinnamon
1 egg white, beaten
1 c. powdered sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 to 2 Tbsp. water
Preparation

Cut shortening into flour and salt.
Add milk to egg yolk to make 2/3 cup.
Add to flour mixture.
Divide dough in half.
Roll half to put in jelly roll pan or 13 x 9-inch pan.
Put apples and spices in middle.
Put other half of dough on top.
Pinch edges together.
Beat egg white until stiff and brush over top.
