Ingredients

1 c. water
2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. maple flavoring
4 oz. pure maple syrup (optional)
Preparation

Bring water to a boil.
Pour in sugar and stir until completely dissolved. Continue simmering for 4 minutes.
Remove from heat and add maple flavoring.
For added richness, add 4 ounces commercially prepared maple syrup.
Serve on pancakes, waffles, biscuits or Britches Patches.
