Grandmother Whitley'S Sweet Cucumber Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    7 lb. cucumbers, sliced
    2 gallons water
    2 c. lime
    2 c. salt
    2 gallons water
    1/2 gallon vinegar
    4 lb. (8 cups) sugar
    1/2 box (1 1/2 oz.) pickling spices
Preparation
    Mix 2 gallons water and 2 cups lime.
    Add sliced cucumbers. Soak 12 to 14 hours.
    (Stir occasionally.)
    Drain.
    Rinse.
    Soak in salt water 4 hours (2 cups salt).
    Drain.
    Rinse.
    Soak in clear water 2 hours.
    Drain.
