Dill Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 qt. water
    1 qt. vinegar
    1 c. salt
    1/2 tsp. alum
    1 clove garlic
    dill seed
Preparation
    Heat the first 4 ingredients to boiling.
    In the bottom of each jar, put 1 clove of garlic and 1 teaspoon of dill seed.
    Pour water and vinegar mixture over pickles and seal.
    Use hot water bath for a few minutes.
    Let sit for 4 weeks before using.
