Squash Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. squash, sliced
    1 tsp. sugar
    1/2 c. mayonnaise
    1/2 c. chopped onion
    1/2 c. chopped green pepper
    1/2 c. chopped pecans
    1 egg, slightly beaten
    1/2 c. sharp grated cheese
    salt and pepper to taste
    1 tube crackers, crumbled
    1/2 stick butter
Preparation
    Cook squash; drain and mash.
    Add other ingredients, except butter and cracker crumbs.
    Put in 2-quart casserole.
    Top with cracker crumbs mixed with melted butter.
    Bake 35 to 40 minutes in 350\u00b0 oven.
