Overnight French Toast - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. corn syrup
    1/2 c. butter
    1 c. brown sugar
    slices of French bread, sliced 1-inch thick
    3 or 4 apples, peeled and sliced
    5 eggs
    1 1/2 c. milk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/4 tsp. salt
Preparation
    In a saucepan, over low heat, combine corn syrup, butter and brown sugar.
    Cook just until it is syrup.
    Put this mixture in the bottom of a 9 x 13-inch baking pan.
    Cover the syrup completely with the apple slices.
    Place the bread slices on top of the apples.
