Coconut Islands - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. soda
    2 sq. chocolate
    1/4 c. hot coffee (if desired 1/4 tsp. instant coffee in boiling water)
    1/2 c. Crisco
    1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
    1 egg, unbeaten
    2/3 c. thick sour cream
    1/3 c. coconut
Preparation
    Sift together the flour, salt and soda.
    Melt the chocolate in the hot coffee in small saucepan over low heat. Cool.
    Cream the Crisco and brown sugar. Add the egg and chocolate mixture. Cream together.
    Measure the sour cream.
    Add alternately with the dry ingredients. Stir in the coconut.
    Drop by teaspoon onto greased baking sheets.
    Bake in a 375\u00b0 oven for 12 to 15 minutes. Frost while warm.
    Sprinkle tops with coconut.
    Store in a tightly covered container.
    Makes 3 1/2 dozen cookies.
