Ingredients

2 lb. ground beef
1 c. chopped onion
5 Tbsp. chili powder
2 tsp. cumin seed
2 large cloves garlic or powder equal to
2 (10 3/4 oz.) cans beef gravy
2 (16 oz.) cans tomatoes
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. crushed red pepper (optional)
3 (16 oz.) cans kidney beans
1/4 c. corn meal
Preparation

In a large heavy pan, brown beef and cook onion with chili, cumin and garlic until tender. Add gravy, tomatoes, salt and red pepper. Cook over low heat for 25 minutes.
Stir now and then. Add beans and corn meal. Cook, stirring for 5 minutes or until thickened. Makes about 14 cups.
