Oatcakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 oz. fine oatmeal
    4 oz. flour
    2 oz. lard
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1 dessert spoonful sugar
    1 small tsp. cream of tartar
    1 beaten egg
    hot water to bind
Preparation
    Rub lard into flour and oatmeal.
    Sift in sugar, salt and powders.
    Add beaten egg and make into a nice dough with hot water.
    Roll out thin and cut into cakes.
    Bake in a hot oven for a few minutes.
