Mushroom Canapes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
    1 egg yolk
    1 tsp. onion, chopped very fine
    1 large or 2 small cans mushroom pieces and stems, drained
    salt to taste
    1 loaf white bread
    butter or margarine
Preparation
    Mix cream cheese, egg yolk, onion and salt in bowl.
    Brown mushrooms in butter or margarine.
    Add mushrooms to cream cheese mixture.
    Cut rounds of bread about 2 inches in diameter.
    Toast one side under broiler; butter untoasted side.
    Heap cream cheese mixture on rounds.
    Broil for a very few minutes, until they bubble and brown slightly.
    Serve warm.
