Mexican Cornbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 can cream-style corn
    3/4 c. milk
    1/4 c. melted shortening
    2 beaten eggs
    1 c. plain cornmeal
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 c. grated cheese
    1 can chili peppers or 1 or 2 jalapenos, chopped
Preparation
    Mix ingredients, except cheese and peppers.
    Pour 1/2 of mixture into greased iron skillet.
    Sprinkle 1/2 of cheese and peppers over mixture.
    Pour remaining mixture in skillet and top with remaining cheese and peppers.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 for 30 to 45 minutes.
