Red Devil'S Food Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1/2 c. sour cream, lard or butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla or maple flavoring
2 c. flour
1/2 c. sour milk
1 tsp. soda, sifted with flour
4 Tbsp. Hershey's cocoa (melt cocoa in 1/2 c. hot water)
1 egg

Preparation

Combine sugar and cream, lard or butter; beat well.
Add cocoa and hot water, flour and soda, beating all the time.
Add egg last. Bake in loaf pan or layer pan.
