Simple Eggnog - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 eggs
    1/2 c. sugar
    4 c. milk
    1 c. heavy cream
    nutmeg
Preparation
    Using an electric mixer or whisk, beat eggs with sugar until light and thoroughly combined.
    Beat in 2 cups of milk.
    Cook the mixture, stirring constantly, until it reaches 170\u00b0 on candy thermometer
    and thickens slightly.
    Remove custard from the heat and stir in 2 more cups of milk.
    Chill the mixture thoroughly.
    Whip the heavy cream and fold the whipped cream into the chilled egg and milk mixture.
    Serve sprinkled with nutmeg.
