Oatmeal Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 eggs, well beaten
    1 c. raisins
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. shortening or butter
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 c. sugar
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    2 c. rolled oats (quick or old-fashioned)
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Combine eggs, raisins and vanilla and let stand 1 hour at room temperature.
    Cream shortening with both sugars until fluffy and light.
    Sift flour, salt, baking soda and cinnamon into creamed mixture.
    Mix well.
    Blend in egg mixture.
    Stir in rolled oats and nuts.
    Dough will be stiff.
    Drop by teaspoon onto ungreased cookie sheet.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes.
    Makes 8 dozen cookies.
