Kentucky Jam Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 eggs
    1 c. sour milk
    1/2 c. blackberry jam (any jam may be used)
    2 c. pastry flour
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. soda
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. cloves
    1 tsp. baking powder
    2/3 c. shortening, melted
Preparation
    Beat eggs; add sugar, sour milk and jam.
    Sift together flour, spices, baking powder and soda and add through sifter to first mixture.
    Stir in melted shortening and beat thoroughly.
    Bake in two greased layer cake pans in a moderate oven (350\u00b0) for 25 to 35 minutes.
    Spread with Fluffy White Icing.
